Float Your Way Through the Menopause!

If you’ve listened to our podcast Menopause Matters, Lets Talk or heard a talk you’ll know I have a tendency to bang on about the benefits of magnesium and am especially partial to a bath with magnesium sulphate flakes in! Imagine how delighted we were when we were invited to try float therapy at the Reset Float Centre in Grangemouth!
Now this I would highly recommend…de-stress, relax and unwind.
After a warm welcome on our arrival we were taken through to see the floatation pods and talked through everything.
The pods are fabulous – they’re spacious (8ft/5ft), you don’t feel cramped at all and packed with 500kg of Epsom Salts. The subtle lighting inside the pods (you can change the colour!) can stay on or you can opt for darkness – you’re completely in control so you can easily change your mind half-way through the session.
There’s also the option of calming music throughout your session or none at all.
This was an incredibly relaxing experience. If you have a busy brain and find it hard to switch off…or put your phone away…it’s an ideal way to spend an hour, whilst helping to lower those stress hormones and relax aching joints.
I’m usually up for trying most things but have to admit have always been slightly hesitant about getting into a floatation pod, being slightly claustrophobic. If you feel the same way seriously don’t worry – I could keep the pod lid open just slightly but actually felt comfortable enough to have it shut for most of the session with the pod feeling so spacious.
Having always wanted to visit the Red Sea this was a great experience – the water was highly buoyant due to the high concentration of Epsom salts - you do genuinely float without any effort.
Reset have kindly given us a discount code to pass on for anyone who would like to book a session – available until the end of the year : menopause10
